How SolveX Agent processes page context, linked sources, screenshots and optional audio, and how to clear local recovery data.

Updated October 12, 2026 · SolveX Team

What Agent reads when you run it

Agent works on the activity you choose, using the site access you grant in Chrome. Its observations can include the page title and URL, visible text, question content, available controls, instructions, relevant images, and progress from the current activity.

When an image needs visual reading, Agent can capture the visible activity tab. A screenshot may include other content visible on that page. Keep unrelated sensitive information out of view, and use Stop whenever you want to end a run. Agent does not need your school password; you sign in to your school directly in Chrome.

Linked readings and optional audio

If you enable linked-source reading and grant access, Agent can open a source linked by the activity, read available text, summaries or transcripts, and keep source notes for your response. Source excerpts and URLs may be included in the context sent for AI processing.

Audio transcription is optional. If you choose to provide an audio excerpt, the file is uploaded to the SolveX backend. The backend limits what is sent to OpenAI to the first three minutes of decoded audio for transcription. MP4 and M4A files use a restricted temporary file during decoding; it is removed when decoding finishes or is cancelled. The resulting transcript can become a local source note. An excerpt is not a claim that Agent has read an entire video.

AI and service providers

Page observations, selected source context, relevant screenshots and your run instructions are sent to the SolveX backend and OpenAI to plan supported actions or prepare a response. Optional audio is sent to OpenAI's transcription service. These inputs can contain personal information that appears in the activity or sources you choose.

We disable optional storage of Agent model responses. This does not mean zero data retention: OpenAI processes API data under its data controls, including applicable safety and security retention. Clearing your local Agent data does not erase information already processed by a provider.

SolveX uses Supabase for accounts and database records, Railway for the backend, Vercel for the website, and Stripe for payments. Full payment card details are handled by Stripe. We do not sell your personal data.

What stays in your browser

Agent can save a bounded activity checkpoint, recent progress, source notes and a recovery draft in Chrome extension storage in your browser profile. Recovery is eligible for the same open activity and attempt for 24 hours. This is a resume window, not a promise that all saved data is automatically deleted after 24 hours. It is not a permanent course profile.

Use Clear recovery data in Agent settings to delete saved activity progress, source notes and drafts from this browser. Disconnecting Agent also clears its saved recovery data and removes its connection token. These actions do not remove content already saved on your school's website, previous provider processing, or billing records.

Account, access and operational records

We keep account identifiers, Agent pass and expiry records, connection token hashes, and usage records needed to provide access, enforce allowances, prevent abuse and diagnose service failures. Operational records can include request identifiers, units used, provider/model information, token counts and latency.

The Agent usage database records do not store the page text, screenshots or audio files themselves. Website analytics and account records are covered by the main SolveX Privacy Policy. You can turn off optional website measurement there; this does not disable authentication, billing or service usage records.

Your choices and contact

You choose the activity, site permissions, linked-source access, optional audio and submission mode. Review first stops for your review; Full access can follow submission steps on the selected activity. Stop ends pending and queued Agent work. Review prepared work and use Agent only where your course permits outside assistance.

For account deletion or questions about Agent data, contact the SolveX Team at solvex.help@gmail.com. We may retain records required for billing, security or legal obligations. Agent is coming soon; the public interactive demo uses synthetic content and does not send your school activity to an AI provider.
